Which blogger wouldn’t want his blogs to have a large audience? After all, it is the readership that determines the success of a blog. This is why you as a blogger, need to focus on doing all that it takes to ensure that your blog reaches maximum audience and hits a high success rate. So, let’s take a look at five blogging tips (not necessarily in the particular order), which will teach you how to blog like a boss.
Show that your strength lies in writing: When you blog about any particular niche, your audience expects you to be an expert in that particular niche. For instance, you may write about the latest mobile gadgets but you present your facts in a haphazard manner. This way your blog – although informative, loses credibility. This is why you must focus on improving your writing skills from time to time and give your audience a well-rounded blog that is both factually correct and well-written. Additionally, give your blog your own voice so that it doesn’t look like ten other run-of the mill blogs. This in turn gives your blog a personality, which is appreciated by the audience.
Take time out for proofreading: Dedicate sufficient time to proofread your blogs and make sure that there are no ‘loose sentences’, grammatical errors, spelling errors or typos. All such errors turn off your readers and as a consequence, your blog loses its audience over a period of time. Hence, proofread your blog posts at least 4-5 times after you write it to make sure that it is flawless. You can also try reading your post aloud or have someone else to read it. This way, you’ll not miss out any errors in your posts.
The blog design matters: If you think that your blog content alone is sufficient to draw huge number of readers and have a steady following, then you are mistaken. Apart from having unique content, your blog must also have a unique design, which should be aesthetic as well as easily navigable. An aesthetic design makes a good first impression on the audience and easy navigation helps them explore the blog. Therefore, choose a design or theme for your blog, which is in sync with your content and allows your audience to browse the content easily.
The road less taken: Instead of spending most of your time searching keywords, you can take the unconventional route and write on controversial topics. For instance, if everyone around you is writing “what great features does a recently released smartphone has”, you can twist it and write about “why that smartphone’s great features are not exactly great”. This will grab eyeballs instantly and also fetch you a number of comments/feedback from your readers and give you a good ranking.
Blogging essentials: There are two blogging essentials, which you just can’t ignore while writing a blog. These are:
- Interacting with readers: Interacting with other bloggers in your niche and building healthy relationships with them. In future, you can work mutually to post content at each others blogs and gain mutual benefits. You also get to learn a lot from each others experiences.
- Responding to the readers: Respond to all the comments from your readers. This lends a personal touch to your blog and also increases reader participation and feedback.
All said and done, don’t forget to take breaks in between your blog posts or between new topics. This will help you write fresh content every time. So, follow these tips and have fun blogging like a boss. Cheers!
